SETC has been established
as a Educational Think Tank in conjunction with The
Sequim Institute and The Cascadian Group, located on the
Northern Olympic Peninsula, in downtown Sequim, we reach out to our
friends and colleagues via the Internet and find answers to your
questions and solutions to your education and training-related problems.
It is the first virtual
organization of its kind in this geographic area. We help
organizations like yours become more innovative and more creative. However, unlike many other companies, we help you harness
the innovative and creative potential of the people in your
organization, your clients, students, customers, your suppliers and other partners.
We believe that every organization has a huge reservoir of creative talent. But, in many
organizations innovative ideas are not being fully realized and communicated across the
firm.
We offer articles, tools and experts who can help
you find and evaluate and implement ideas. We
do this with on line training, publications (including newsletters,
list mailings, websites, video, graphics, slide shows, PowerPoint presentations,
whitepapers or marketing pieces. We are not afraid to NOT take
ourselves to seriously. Humor
is an effective way to open the mind. It is disarming, yet it
gives people perspective.
Functioning as a network
of education and technology workers, business men and women,
SETC is an idea incubator and a reactive
body that picks up the thread, researches the topic, synthesizes the
information and shares it with others.
We
emphasize the use and application of informatics.
Informatics
is the "...interdisciplinary study of information content, representation,
technology and applications, and the methods and strategies by which
information is used in organizations, networks, cultures and societies."
Group
participants and partners are linked together by the Internet, the telephone
or closed circuit video conferencing.
Our
purpose is to enforce and demonstrate our belief in collaboration and
formation of ad-hoc, peer to peer and "smart mobs" to solve problems,
innovate and share knowledge in order to build our businesses and
help others do the same.
We
do this work for public, private and nonprofit entities, stressing low-cost
and easily maintained documentation and tools.
We specialize
in Research, Creative Intelligence and Electronic Communications.
